The latest beta update of WhatsApp for Windows Phone is 2.16.35 and you can get it from the internet, as on the Windows Store you’ll find only the last public version. This operating system is rarely updated by the developers, but they’ve finally decided to introduce new features for users who own a Lumia smartphone or any device running on Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. Below we’ll talk about all the new features that have been included in the new update.
WhatsApp 2.16.24 brings bug fixes and performance improvements, in addition to new features, such as preview of links, such as a YouTube thumbnail; 18 new wallpapers; the option to silence conversations selectively (you will no longer open a user’s profile, but hold the conversation with him/her and click on the mute button); sending and receiving Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, as well as formatted texts – bolded by putting words between underlines, italic by using an asterisk before and after the word, or strikethrough, by using the ~ symbol.
We remind you that this is a beta update and it might come with other bugs and issues, but you can report them to developers so they can fix them before releasing another update. WhatsApp 2.16.20 for Windows Phone brought the ability to select a document from the Office suite and send it to contacts, but when users were tapping the button to complete the process, an error message appeared and the window closed. This new update fixed this problem and you can perform the entire procedure correctly.
It’s still not known when the Video Calling feature will arrive, because WhatsApp’s developers haven’t even said if this feature will be added to Android in the near future, although a while ago, there were some leaks suggesting that the roll out is inevitable. Well, it seems that we’ll wait a little longer until this feature will be finally released.
