The developers of WhatsApp have released a new version for Nokia smartphones that run on Symbian S60, such as Nokia X6, Nokia C6 etc. The latest WhatsApp version for these devices is 2.16.9 and, unfortunately, it doesn’t come with any new features or options.
However, the WhatsApp 2.16.9 APK comes with many bug fixes and stability improvements, which you will notice after the first minutes of use, but keep in mind that this version is currently in BETA phase, which means that you might find some new bugs and errors, which you should report as soon as possible, so that the developers can fix them before they release the next STABLE version of the application.
We’ve told you in a previous article, about a Video Calling feature, which will most likely be released for the WhatsApp application. However, this feature will most likely be available only on Android, iOS and Windows 10 Mobile operating systems. We remind you that the Voice Calling feature is not yet available for the Symbian S60 OS and we’re not sure if this feature will ever be released for this operating system.
WhatsApp have also confirmed that they will stop supporting Symbian S60 OS before the end of 2016, which means that soon enough, you will not see any new WhatsApp version being released for this operating system.
