Sharing is caring!

Whether you’re interested in the various features coming with the latest iOS version or just wish to benefit from the bug fixes and security patch-ups, things get a quite a lot more complicated if jailbreaking is involved into the equation, when it comes to updating jailbroken iOS devices, you’ll have to take a completely different factor into the equation:

Whether or not the next version has a working jailbreak method figured out.

iOS 9.3 and 9.3.1

There’s quite a long list of people who work on developing jailbreak tools, no matter what their motivations, they have an even longer list of people who wait patiently (some of us, at least) for the next major announcement, more often than not, this announcement gives people the ability to update their phones to the new version while retaining the functionality they unlocked via jailbreaking.

The newest versions which people are keeping an eye on are: iOS 9.3 and 9.3.1

iOS 9.3 brings Night Shift, some UI updates, security updates and some general updates to make Siri better by adding new languages which Siri can now understand, then there’s the small security tweaks, letting you secure the notes you’ve taken on your phone. Then iOS 9.3.1 of course improves upon 9.3, fixes the instability issues as well as the various bugs that users were reporting.

Jailbreak news

Now as far as the jailbreak news is concerned, keep in mind that there was an April’s fools prank tool released to fully jailbreak iOS 9.3 as well as 9.3.1 , unfortunately, this was nothing more than a prank, many people still fell prey to it and were left confused as the tool had no effect.

An Apology

The first place that someone looks for jailbreak tools is obviously Google, you might end up with a website or two which have working tools but if you’re not familiar with the internet then you’re going to end up on some websites which aren’t really much help.

We had a similar issue, ending up at websites which look like Pangu and Taig’s, but aren’t. Then we realize that all they do is run some fancy animations on your device and not help at all, ultimately these websites might also end up installing malware on your device so it’s wise to steer clear of them.

As for what’s a nice way to know whether or not a website is trustworthy, here’s a link to a community made page, simply go over there and if a website is on that list, they’ll tell you exactly what’s going on.

Actual jailbreak news

Now as of writing this post, there is no working jailbreak tool for iOS 9.2, 9.2.1, 9.3 or 9.3.1

The folks at Pangu will help you out with 9.1, 9.0.2, 9.0.1, and 9.0 where as the folks at TaiG will help you out with 8.4, 8.3, 8.2, and 8.1.3

At the end of the day, remember that as new updates are rolled out, you’ll have to jailbreak your phone again, so every time you wish to update to the latest version, ask yourself if you’d rather have the jailbreak perks or the newest features that Apple has laid out.
