In “Severed”, gamers will play as Sasha, a one-armed warrior lady which is in a mission to find the members of her family, and which will kill all monsters that will appear in her way, no matter if they have three heads, four arms or six legs. The game, which was created by Drinkbox (which is the creator of the hit multiplatform Guacamelee), will be released on April 26th for PS Vita.
“Severed” was supposed to be released in Spring 2015, and Drinkbox even showed an early demo of it at the PlayStation Experience, in December 2014. It seems that the developers needed more time to finish the game, because they had tons of ideas and wanted to add as many as possible. “It only took a whole extra year, but we’ve finally finished packing in as much as we could into Severed and we’re really happy with how it has turned out,” said Graham from Drinkbox Studios.
Severed is a dungeon action game and while exploring it, the players will solve various puzzles and will need to observe the attack patterns of their enemies, in order to be prepared and to know how to defeat them. Severed has a touch-driven interface and from our point of view, it was created for the most sadistic players, who like to chop off the limbs of their enemies, during virtual combats. After defeating targets in Severed, players will loot them of their equipment and use it in later battles.
The soundtrack for Severed was composed by Juno nominated band YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN featuring Pantayo, so you’ll hear some intense progressive rock music in this game. Drinkbox’ other game, Guacamelee, game was brought to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita and later to PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and Wii U. Severed will be available for PS Vita.
