Apple has released the iPhone SE last month, while Samsung has brought its Galaxy A3 (2016) in December 2015. Today we’re going to compare these two smartphones and let you decide which one is perfect for your needs.
The iPhone SE has the same dimensions as the iPhone 5S, which are 123.8×58.6×7.6mm, but it weights 113 grams, with 1 gram more than the older model. Its design is identical, as it has the same aluminum back with sharp edges. As for the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), this model is slimmer and heavier, as it measures 134.5×65.2×7.3mm and it weights 132 grams. Its back is made of glass and the frame is very resistant, because it’s made of metal.
The iPhone SE comes with a LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 4-inch that supports a resolution of 1136×640 pixels at 326 ppi. The Galaxy A3 (2016) has a larger Super AMOLED display of 4.7-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 312 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The iPhone SE features an Apple A9 chipset, a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT7600 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy A3 (2016) comes in two chipset and graphics card variants, as follows:
– Chipset: Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 or Exynos 7578;
– Graphics Card: Adreno 306 or Mali-T720MP2.
Both Galaxy A3 (2016) variants come with a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 1.5GB of RAM.
The iPhone SE has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 64GB, without the possibility to expand them. On the other hand, the Galaxy A3 (2016) comes with an internal memory of 16GB, but it’s expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The iPhone SE sports a primary camera of 12MP that offers dual-LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and a secondary camera of 1.2MP. The Galaxy A3 (2016) has a 13MP primary camera that supports LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP.
Both devices feature non-removable batteries, but the iPhone SE has a very small battery of 1624 mAh that lasts only 14 hours when talking over 3G. The Galaxy A3 (2016) has an average battery of 2300 mAh, but according to GSMArena, it has the same lifespan as that of the iPhone SE.
