Clash of Clans has been around for a few years now and has made a solid place for itself in the mobile market. The Clan Wars aspect of the game, however, which pits clans against one another in special battles, wasn’t a part of the game from the start. Clan Wars were introduced in Clash of Clans Version 6.56.1, an update released for the game on April 9, 2014.
That’s right, Clan Wars have now been a part of the game for almost two years. This Saturday is the 2nd anniversary of Clan Wars, and a special celebration is underway to recognize the date. Therefore, you’ll receive double Clan XP from wars for the next week. Clan XP is a critical part of strengthening your Clan and making it more effective in battle.
The developers performed maintenance on Clash of Clans earlier today, and now that the maintenance has ended successfully, the celebration can begin. It appears that no other changes were made during today’s maintenance, as it was solely to enable the event. Now the Clan Wars 2nd Anniversary celebration is live, and any wars you participate in for the next week will reward you with twice as much Clan XP.
Additionally, the developers confirmed that any Clan Wars currently in progress will receive this benefit, including wars that were already in the preparation stage.
This is a great bonus for players who enjoy Clan Wars, and a nice way to pay tribute to the game’s history. Clash of Clans has become such a huge name in the world of mobile gaming, it’s a little hard to believe that Clan Wars have only been around for two years, and that the game itself is only a few years old. It has evolved a lot since its origins, and many new players are still joining the game even as longtime players look back at the early days.
If you play Clash of Clans, do you participate in Clan Wars? Have you played long enough to remember when they were first added? What other bonuses would you like to see as part of celebrations when games reach certain anniversaries? Let us know in the comments!
