WhatsApp is one of the most popular mobile messaging applications out there, having over 1 billion monthly active users. The application has been purchased by Facebook in February 2014 and since then, we’ve noticed that WhatsApp has suffered some major changes, receiving many new features.

Some of these new options and features have been received pretty well by the users, but we can clearly say there were some options that made many users to either go for the unofficial WhatsApp Plus application or just leave WhatsApp for good. However, soon enough, the features/options that have received a negative feedback were either totally removed from the WhatsApp application or the developers gave users the possibility to just disable them.

Today we’re going to talk about the WhatsApp version 2.16.1 that has been released for iPhones, which doesn’t come with new options and features, but it does fix some bugs and improves the application’s stability. The developers also fixed a bug that was not allowing you to send videos to some users that had their iPhones running on iOS 9.3.1.

There are rumors which say that it’s just a matter of time until we will see the Video Calling feature on the WhatsApp application. Unfortunately, this feature has not been confirmed yet by the developers of WhatsApp, but we’re pretty sure that they will be somehow “forced” to bring it to their application or else, WhatsApp will not be able to keep up the pace with other popular mobile messaging applications. We remind you that the Viber application has the Video Calling feature for quite a while and it is being used everyday by hundreds of thousands of people.

You can now download and install the WhatsApp version 2.16.1 from the Apple Store. If you install it on your iPhone and you find any bug or issue, please leave a comment below.
