Apple has released its 12.9-inch iPad Pro back in September 2015 and now, the smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro 9.7 version will hit the markets from all over the world. Here’s a comparison between the two tablets, in case you’re interested in buying one of them.

Designs

The iPad Pro handset measures 305.7×220.6×6.9mm and weights 713 grams (Wi-Fi version) and 723 grams (LTE version). On the other hand, the new iPad Pro 9.7 measures 240×169.5×6.1mm and weights 437 grams (Wi-Fi version) and 444 grams (LTE version). Both tablets have a similar design, featuring an aluminum body with rounded edges and corners, as well as a rear camera located in the upper left corner.



Displays

The iPad Pro comes with an IPS LCD display of 12.9-inch that supports a resolution of 2732×2048 pixels at 264 ppi. As we’ve told you above, the iPad Pro 9.7 features a smaller IPS LCD display of 9.7-inch that supports a lower resolution of 2048×1536 pixels at 264 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The iPad Pro features an Apple A9X chipset, a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 2.26GHz, a PowerVR Series 7 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The iPad Pro 9.7 comes with an Apple A9X chipset, a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 2.16GHz, a PowerVR Series 7 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.

Storages

The iPad Pro has been released in two variants of internal memories of 32GB and 128GB. On the other hand, the iPad Pro 9.7 has an additional variant of 256GB but, unfortunately, none of the devices offers a card slot for storage expansion.

Cameras

The iPad Pro sports a primary camera of 8MP that features autofocus, touch focus, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 1.2MP. The iPad Pro 9.7 has a better primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Conclusion

As you can see, the new iPad Pro 9.7 comes with less RAM, but it has more advanced cameras. With other words, this is a good alternative for people who want a smaller tablet, but which is capable of taking higher quality photos.
