In the past few days, the developers of WhatsApp have released many updates for multiple platforms, such as Nokia, Nokia Asha and Android. All three platforms have been updated regularly, but they brought minor changes, without adding any new features. However, the new WhatsApp versions come with bug fixes and enhanced stability of the application.

The new WhatsApp version 2.16.9 that has been released for Nokia and Symbian S60 devices, doesn’t bring anything new to the application and the .sis (installation) file has been increased by 18KB, having only 8 files modified.

On the other hand, the WhatsApp version for Nokia Asha and Symbian S40 devices, such as Nokia Asha 201 or Nokia C3, has been updated to version 2.16.1, but it doesn’t come yet with document sharing option. The WhatsApp 2.16.1 .jar (installation) file has been increased by only 3KB, but there are many modified files, with over 1300 modified files, 3 new files an a deleted thumbnails file.

The WhatsApp version for the Android devices has been updated to 2.16.7 and it is now available only for the BETA testers from the Google Play Store. The new WhatsApp version comes with a minor update and the APK (installation) file has been increased by 27KB, without having new files added or deleted files. However, 17 files have been modified, all related to manifestos and libraries.

As you can see, the developers of WhatsApp are continuously working on their application. There are also rumors which say that the application will soon receive a Video Calling feature, but it will be available only for devices that run on Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile. Unfortunately, the developers of WhatsApp haven’t confirmed any of these rumors yet, so we should take them with a bit of salt.
