The WhatsApp application is currently used by more than 1 billion users, which makes it one of the most popular mobile messaging applications. Today we’re going to talk about a new WhatsApp version that has just been released for Windows Phone, which, unfortunately, doesn’t bring any new feature.

The WhatsApp 2.16.2 is the latest BETA version of this application for Windows Phone and it doesn’t come with a changelog. With other words, this new version comes with bug fixes and app improvements. However, we remind you that the previous WhatsApp version has brought video trimming along with other new features.

The video trim feature will allow you to trim videos before you send them to your WhatsApp contacts. We remind you that, previously, WhatsApp has also added a video compressor to the application, which is allowing you to send longer videos. In addition, you can send and receive documents, but only PDF files are currently supported. According to reports, more document types will be supported in the near future.

We remind you that the WhatsApp 2.16.2 is currently in BETA phase, which means that you might find bugs and other annoying issues. With other words, if you want a bug-free WhatsApp application, we suggest you to install the latest STABLE version of it.

It is good to know that there are rumors which say that the WhatsApp version for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile will soon receive a Video Calling feature. However, this has not been confirmed yet by the developers of WhatsApp, but we’re pretty sure that they will be forced to bring it in order to keep up the pace with other popular mobile messaging applications such as Viber.
