Apple has already unveiled its iPhone SE 4-inch smartphone, which is a smaller iPhone 5S with the specifications of the iPhone 6S, but at the same time, they company ha announced the new iPad Pro device, which is smaller than the previous one and has a screen with a diagonal of 9.7-inch, but we’re pretty sure that there are many users who will purchase it.
Today we’re going to compare the new iPad Pro 9.7 with the “old” iPad Pro 12.9 that has been released last year.
The iPad Pro measures 305.7×220.6×6.9mm and weights 713 grams (Wi-Fi variant) or 723 grams (LTE variant). The new iPad Pro 9.7 measures 240×169.5×6.1mm and weights 437 grams (Wi-Fi variant) or 444 grams (LTE variant). They share the same design, an aluminum body with the rear camera located in the upper left corner.
The iPad Pro comes with a LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 12.9-inch that supports a resolution of 2732×2048 pixels at 264 ppi. On the other hand, the iPad Pro 9.7 has a LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 9.7-inch that supports a lower resolution of 2048×1536 pixels at 264 ppi. Both tablets have a scratch-resistant glass on top of their screens.

The iPad Pro features an Apple A9X chipset, a dual-core Twister CPU clocked at 2.26GHz, a PowerVR Series 7 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The iPad Pro 9.7 comes with an Apple A9X chipset, a dual-core Twister CPU clocked at 2.16GHz, a PowerVR Series 7 graphics card and only 2GB of RAM.
The iPad Pro has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 128GB, while the iPad Pro 9.7 comes in three variants of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. None of the devices has a card slot for storage expansion, so you should think twice about the amount of storage you need, before purchasing any of these two tablets.
The iPad Pro sports a primary camera of 8MP on the rear side that offers autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, face detection and on the front side a secondary camera of 1.2MP. The iPad Pro 9.7 has a better primary camera of 12MP with similar features and dual-LED flash for taking photos at night, while the secondary camera is 5MP.
