While almost all Apple offerings are highly priced, Android gadgets are available to suit everyone’s budget. Apple has its own operating system, the iOS, for its devices. The iOS 9.3 is the latest version of this platform. Known to offer at least one distinct feature in each later version of its platforms, Apple proves that the most recent iOS 9.3 is no different. Here are a few features that you can look forward to in this version of the operating system that you may be interested in exploring.

Night Shift

This cool feature of iOS 9.3 works on the principle of geolocation referencing. Using this concept, the screen of your smartphone or tablet will sense your location. Based on the clock setting, it will also analyze the time of the day. It will then adjust the color of your gadget’s screen accordingly. If you do not want this automatic setting, you can also set up a manual setting schedule. When the setting is implemented, the screen appears to be a bit more yellow and warmer during the latter part of the day and paves way for brightness in the remainder part of the day. Similar to the popular F.Lux app, the night shift lessens the intensity of the blue light emitted at night. The bright blue night discharged from LED screens can result in disturbed sleep due to strain on your eyes and interrupted circadian rhythms.

Activating the Night Shift option is very easy. All you have to do is go to the Display & Brightness section under the Settings menu and turn the sliding switch for Blue Light Reduction to ON position.

Notes and News Apps

Like in any smartphone, the Notes app has proved to be very handy in iPhones. You can note down anything that you wish to remind yourself about at any point of time. This eliminates the hassle of carrying various handwritten notes with you along with the fear of losing them. However, a long time issue with the Notes app has been resolved with the iOS 9.3. Earlier versions of the operating system did not support the ability to protect your notes with a password. With no privacy at all, this made your personal notes easily readable by anyone who gained access to your smartphone. Apple has given deep thought to this issue and resolved it with the password protection capability for handsets running on iOS 9.3. If you think password security is not enough, you can opt for a Touch ID which is less vulnerable.

To enable the security option, select Password Protection under Notes option in the Settings menu. Choose the note to be protected and click on Share. Select the Password Protect Note option and enter your password. With iOS 9.3, you can also sort your notes based on their titles or dates of creation/modification.

As far as the News app is concerned, iOS 9.3 allows you to play the video of an interesting news feed at the source itself. Landscape reading mode has been introduced to make the reading activity easier and more enjoyable. You can also set an option to follow or be informed about latest updates of news items of your interested. Also, when the news app is launched, the news feed gets launched faster than before. The For You section focuses on listing out news items based on user preferences.

Multiple Accounts Support for iPads

iOS versions before the release of iOS 9.3 supported only one user account login for an iPad. In other words, anyone who wanted to use an iPad had to use his or her own device. The iOS 9.3 has made a drastic change to this feature by allowing multiple IDs to be created on iPads. In other words, many users can now use the same tablet. This feature has proven to be quite beneficial for students.

Wi-Fi Assist

This feature is sure to come in handy for avid Internet buffs. If you are someone who uses the Internet practically almost all the time, you are sure to appreciate this feature. If the Wi-Fi signal strength surrounding your handset is really weak, your iPhone will automatically begin using the data plan available on your handset. The setting will get reverted when you enter an area with good Wi-Fi signal strength.
