One sure sign that Google Play Store is here to stay is the constant updates for the improvement of the app made available by the active developers at Google. In fact, the latest APK file of the Google Play Store version 6.3.16 has just been released for download and installation in many phones and tablets running on newer versions of Android.

Specifically, the minimum required OS to run this latest APK version is Android 4.0 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. The previous APK version (Google Play Store 6.2.14) released just on March 17 had a minimum requirement of Android 2.3 or Gingerbread. Both Play Store versions are optimized to run on Android 6.0 or the Marshmallow, an operating system to be also made available on some Nexus, HTC, Huawei, Motorola and LG devices.

The download file of the latest Play Store APK is 14.7 MB in size. It is only a bit higher compared to the 14.35 MB of the APK version that it precedes.

The 6.3.16 APK version is not a beta release. It is actually a stable version, and thus, you should be able to experience faster and smoother operations when using the Google Play Store app.

So what’s new with the Play Store 6.3.16 versus the previous release?

Well, there’s nothing major, really. But the newer version deals with some minor bugs and offers some improvements, something that’s expected of any minor updates.  If you haven’t done so, make sure to update your Google Play Store app for greater convenience and ease of navigation.

The Google Play Store is an important app in every Android device, and you shouldn’t dilly-dally when it comes to getting the latest improvements and bug fixes to ensure optimum performance of your phone or tablet at all times. While apps like this may automatically update in your device, there will always be times when you will be receiving the latest version later than normal. Thus, it’s ideal to download the latest APK version and have the app manually installed into your tablet or phone.

We suggest downloading the latest version from the APKMirror website where Google makes available the latest APK files for all of its Android apps. Make sure to turn off the “Unknown Sources” option under your gadget’s “Settings->Applications or Settings->Security” setup. Once your APK download is completed, use a file manager app in your gadget to find the APK. Tap on the file to install and enjoy the latest Play Store app.
