Smartphones continue to rule the hearts of people all over the world.
Available with various price tags from different manufacturers, these handsets are now easily affordable by just about anyone. Samsung, LG, and Sony are some leading players in the smartphone arena, among many others. Most of their devices often come as a series, with the successors usually having something better to offer than their predecessor models. The LG G5 is one such upcoming smartphone from LG in the LG G series that is supposed to be a follow up of the LG G4. Let us take a look into some of the features and specifications promised by the LG G5. This can help you in analyzing whether you really need to invest in this gadget once it is launched around April 2016.
Dimensions, Weight, Body Material and Design
If the talks doing the rounds are to be believed, then you need not expect LG to offer you a really sleek or lightweight device. The LG G5 is said to sport a size of 149.40 x 73.90 x 7.70 mm and weigh close to 160g. Expected to come with a full metal body, the smartphone can be expected to find its place among the classy and stylish premium looking handsets. And yet another interesting aspect that you can most probably look forward to is that the battery is removable. The bottom of the LG handset can supposedly be detached and the battery can be easily slid out. With most present day smartphones incorporating non-removable batteries, this is likely to be a feather in the cap for the LG G5 if this feature is present in the released smartphone. Added to this, rumors are that the device will have rounded or curved corners to make it easy to hold the gadget in your hand.
Screen Display, Pixel Resolution and Pixel Density
In all probability, LG will not deviate from its IPS LCD display panel. You can expect the same display on this G series handset as well. The screen size by itself is not one of the biggest if it is going to be the 5.3-inch screen being debated about. However, if the manufacturer integrates the talked about pixel resolution and pixel density of 2560 x 1440 and 554ppi respectively, then you can anticipate the images and texts to be displayed with fair enough clarity and sharpness. In other words, you will mostly not be disappointed with your displays.
Camera and Audio
The LG G5 in all likelihood will portray two rear cameras. One is a 16MP rear primary snapper with LED flash and the usual 78-degree lens.Interestingly, the second camera is an 8MP snapper with a 135-degree wide angle lens. The handset will depict almost all common features of other LG G smartphones with the addition of a new camera extension that the manufacturer refers to as CAM Plus. This is a camera grip accessory to help you feel more comfortable operating the camera and avoid those shaky shots. You will also get added DSLR controls with this grip. If these features are made available in the smartphone camera, the wide angle lens is going to be a true boon by presenting you with opportunities to explore without boundaries. Photographers will enjoy taking architectural and landscape shots just as much as they love capturing an indoor shot of a large group of people. Apart from the dual primary cameras, you will also have the standard 8MP front snapper.
A new audio module known as the B&O Play that is not present in the earlier LG G models will mostly find its place in the LG G5. This can result in excellent sound clarity owing to the delivered audio playback with high resolution.
Hardware & Software Configuration and Storage
LG G5 promises some excellent configuration under its hood in this regard. The handset is believed to come with a 2.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The key highlight is that the device renders the facility to expand memory externally by featuring a memory card slot. Supporting memory expansion up to a maximum of 2000GB, you will literally have unlimited storage to keep all your favorite videos and photos without having to make a tough choice on which ones to delete for want of space.
Like its predecessors, LG G5 will continue to be an Android device. The good news of course is that the handset will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest from Android.
