The five popular phone carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular and T-Mobile) are preparing themselves for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on five of LG’s phones: V10, G Flex 2, G3, G4 and G4 Stylo.
After Verizon subscribers get the update, the subscribers from Sprint will be next for the upgrade on their G4 devices. After that, customers with AT&T, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular will be eligible for the upgrade.
There’s no guarantee that everything will go off without a hitch, carriers can always face issues. For instance, Verizon recently updated its G3 model, but updates to the G3 for the other carriers have yet to be done. By month’s end, the model’s international variant for the model is anticipated for an upgrade, bypassing the 5.1 version.
The Android Marshmallow update is set to be seen on other LG phones like LG G Flex 2, LG G Stylo and LG V10. No date for when this is going to happen. The LG G Stylo is also going to get the Android Lollipop and is set to run on Marshmallow. There’s been no announcement made on the LG G4 Pro but it’s thought it’ll come with Marshmallow installed. Although already over three years old, the G2 is likely to attain the Marshmallow.
Pocket-Lint stipulated LG is going to announce an upgrade schedule so device owners know when they’ll get their update. Users can also check their phones to see if it’s available: Settings to System Update.
