Minecraft is one of the most popular games out there, being available for desktop PCs, consoles and mobile devices. Minecraft was already shown running on Hololens and Oculus Rift, but it seems that this game will soon played on Samsung’s Gear VR headset.
This was confirmed by Microsoft during the GDC 2016 event, which started on March 14, 2016 and it will end on March 18, 2016.
Unfortunately, there are no details yet when the Minecraft game will be ready to be played via Gear VR or how much it will cost, but since Gear VR is way cheaper than other VR headsets such as HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, we can assume that it will be a lot cheaper than on any other platform.
However, keep in mind that in Minecraft, the VR doesn’t take the hyper-reality angle that other VR titles are aiming for, but instead it will provide you a fully immersive 3D experience in those pixilated maps. According to reports, the Minecraft fans will surely love Minecraft VR and this is the reason why the game will be available on pretty much every VR platform, later this year.
It’s not sure yet how good the Gear VR version will be in terms of gameplay, but the gamers are hoping that it will have the same quality as the Oculus Rift version of Minecraft. In terms of virtual reality gaming, the Gear VR is one of the cheapest ways and we’re pretty sure that many players will opt for this headset when it comes to VR gaming.
We’re sure that it is just a matter of time until the game developers will start releasing exclusive VR games, which will become popular in a very short time. However, the VR headsets will also need to get cheaper or else there will not be many players that will afford to spend too much money on them.
