Samsung has finally released its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 devices and we’re pretty sure that many fans were expecting them for quite a while. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.


The Galaxy S7 measures 142.4×69.6×7.9mm and weights 152 grams. The Galaxy S7 Edge is slightly slimmer as it measures 150.9×72.6×7.7mm, but it weights with 5 grams more than the Galaxy S7 device for a total of 157 grams. Both devices have their back panel protected by a shinny Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which is prone to fingerprints, and the sides are covered by a metal frame.


The Galaxy S7 has a super AMOLE display of 5.1-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 577 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Galaxy S7 Edge has a larger super AMOLED display of 5.5-inch with the same resolution, but the resulted pixel density is lower at 534 ppi and it’s also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

In terms of processors, graphics cards and RAM, both devices come with the same specifications, as follows:

– Chipsets: Exynos 8890 Octa or Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820;
– Processors: octa-core processor with four Mongoose cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6GHz or a quad-core processor formed from two Kryo cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two Kryo cores clocked at 2.15GHz;
– Graphics Cards: Mali-T880 MP12 or Adreno 530;
– RAM: both variants of these two devices come with 4GB of RAM.


Both devices have been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, which support expansion up to 200GB using a microSD card.


The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices sport a primary camera of 12MP (located on the rear side of the handsets) that supports OIS, LED flash, autofocus, face detection, auto-HDR, geo-tagging, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP (found on the front side of the smartphones).


Both handsets feature non-removable batteries and their capacities are 3000 mAh and 3600mAh – it’s bigger on the Galaxy S7 Edge because the phone is also bigger.
