YouTube Gaming is still quite new and it seems that the company is trying to implement new features into it. We agree that YouTube Gaming is still not as popular as Twitch, but we think that it is just a matter of time until there will be more people who will start using YouTube’s video gaming streaming service.
The latest YouTube Gaming version for the Android devices comes with new stuff, such as a pop-out video player, which can be viewed while using any other application. In order to try out this new feature, you will need to press the menu button overlaid onto any video and tap on the “pop-out player”.
HINT: If you don’t see this feature yet on your Android device, we suggest you to “force-close” the application and restart it.
According to the official YouTube change log, the new YouTube Gaming v1.3 for Android also comes with the following features:
– Homepage navigation: Using this new feature, you will be able to say goodbye to the sidebars, as the company has simplified the homepage in order to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for;
– Dedicated live destination: On the homepage you will find a new “Live” tab that will bring top games, top streams along with stream from channels you’re subscribed to;
– Game and channel browsing: You can now manage your channels and games and even discover new ones thanks to the new Game and channel browsing;
– Android live playback: The Android live stream also joins iOS.
For some reason, the YouTube developers have published a longer changelog to Reddit. According to this changelog, the application is now supporting recent searches, info cards and even localized text based on the user’s language settings on YouTube website. As expected, the new YouTube Gaming v1.3 for Android also brings performance improvements and bug fixes along with the ability to resume or pause while using the mobile capture mode.
