There are still many websites that have embedded content created on the Adobe Flash platform, such as videos, animations and games, and in order to view or play them, you need to install Adobe Flash Player or the plugin. If you’re using a Mac and you’re browsing the internet with Safari, it’s mandatory to install the software, because otherwise, you won’t be able to run SWF files. Below, we’ll tell you how you can install the plugin on safari for Mac.

You will need to head to Adobe’s official page and look for the Flash plugin. Click on the “Download” button, then on “Agree and install now” and you will be notified through a window that your download should start automatically. The program will start downloading and you will wait a few minutes until the process will complete.

Now you will install the Flash Player by double-clicking the installer icon and then you’ll see a dialog box that will inform you about the application that you’ve downloaded. You will click on “Open” and when the License Agreement will appear, you will click the “I have read and agree to the terms of the license agreement” tick box. You will be required to enter your username and password that you’ve set for your Mac and then you’ll click “OK”.

Now, the last step is to wait until the installation will complete and in the end, you’ll click “Done”. You should know that the installer will close the browser to proceed with the installation and if the rich-media content doesn’t work, you’ll need to uninstall Flash Player and perform a clean install of it.

If you Mac is running on OS X 10.8 and above, and you don’t know if Flash is enabled on your device, you will open Safari, and go to Safari > Preferences > Security and ensure that Enable JavaScript and Allow Plug-Ins are selected. Next to Allow Plug-ins you’ll see the Manage Website Settings on which you’ll click, then you’ll select Adobe Flash Player and choose “Allow” from the “When visiting other websites” menu.
