The OnePlus X has been released in 2015, while the Xiaomi Mi 5 is hit the markets this month. Today we’re going to compare these two devices and let you decide if you want to wait for the Xiaomi Mi 5 to be released or to just purchase the OnePlus X device right now.
The OnePlus X measures 140x69x6.9mm and weights 160 grams. Unlike the OnePlus Two, which has a Sandstone Black rear panel, this model has a back made by zirconia ceramic and it’s available in black glass Onyx or white glass Champagne colors. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 5 measures 144.6×69.2×7.3mm and weights 139 grams, while its body has been made entirely by metal, which means that it looks prettier. And its back is also curved on the sides.
The OnePlus X has an AMOLED display of 5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 441 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Xiaomi Mi 5 has an IPS LCD display of 5.15-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 428 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The OnePlus X features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz and a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.8GHz or a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 2.15Gz and a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and it offers two RAM variants of 4GB and 3GB.
The OnePlus X has been released with an internal storage of 16GB, which you can expand up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes in three internal storage variants of 128GB, 64GB and 32GB, but it doesn’t support a card slot for storage expansion.
The OnePlus X sports a primary camera of 13MP (located on the rear side of the device) that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP (found on the front side of the smartphone). The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a primary camera of 16MP with autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, touch focus and a secondary camera of 4MP.
Both handsets come with non-removable batteries, but the OnePlus X supports a capacity of 2525 mAh, while the Xiaomi Mi 5 has a more powerful cell of 3000 mAh.
