Google’s Gmail has more than 600 million users from all over the world. Despite being the dominant name in the email industry, there are still several other players such as Yahoo, Outlook and others that offer email services.

Despite being the dominant name in the email industry, there are still several other players such as Yahoo, Outlook and others that offer email services.

While the company has been able to reduce this gap by enabling non-Gmail users to sign in to the Gmail app from their mobile devices, it wants to do more. In the latest update, Google has unveiled Gmailify, a new tool that is expected to address the issue of having an email address that doesn’t end with “@gmail.com.”

Non-users of this popular service will now be able to take advantage of the great features the company offers on this platform. Whether you are using Hotmail, Outlook or even Yahoo! Mail, the new app will allow you to link any of these accounts to Gmail in order to access all features on offer without the need of doing away with your current email service provider.

Gmail features waiting for you

There are quite a number of features that Gmail offers; features that have played a very huge role in the massive following the service currently offers. These are the features waiting all non-users of Gmail courtesy of the Gmailify tool. They include advanced spam detection as well as blocking capabilities, tabbed inbox, Google Now cards, among many others.

The news gets even better for current third party users of the Gmail Android app. As mentioned earlier, users of third party emails can still sign in to the Gmail app on their Android devices. If you are already aboard this ship, you’ll need to enable Gmailify and that’s it. On the other hand, non-holders of Gmail accounts will have to move over to the Support page for more details on how to set up one.

Once done, sign in to the linked Gmail account and in the inbox you’ll find messages from the other email provider you use, Yahoo! Mail, for instance. The good side of the story is that you will be able to play around with your emails right from within Gmail – be it reading, replying, organizing, and so on, just like you do with Gmail emails.

Google doesn’t restrict you to this Gmailify account once your accounts are linked. There is room to unlink the two services and resume to using your previous email as you’d wish to. The search engine giant, however, said that it will be adding more email providers to Gmailify in order to keep on bringing the best of Gmail to more people across the globe.
