The One M10 has been unveiled through a teaser image, in which it was noticed a slight change of design. The flagship, which was codenamed “Perfume”, appears in the image with the hashtag “#powerof10”, but no other technical specifications have been provided. The Taiwanese company sent an email with the teaser image and only a short text stating “stay tuned for more”.
HTC attended the Mobile World Congress 2016, but the company presented only mid-rang smartphones, disappointing the fans who were hoping to see the One M10, as last year, at this event was unveiled the On M9. This means that the successor will arrive a bit later, being released through a dedicated event that will take place in London, on April 11.
If the rumors are right, then the One M10 will feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, it will be powered by the new Snapdragon 820 quad core processor and 4 GB of RAM will be the driving force of the smartphone. Also, it will have an internal memory of 32GB, which will support expansion, while the rear camera will be 12MP Ultrapixel with OIS, phase detection and laser autofocus. As for the front camera, it will be 5MP and will support UltraPixel technology, as well. While other HTC smartphones already received a home button with a fingerprint scanner embedded into it, the One M10 will finally have this important feature, because the Android Marshmallow brought the Android Pay mobile payment system and support for fingerprint scanners. The device will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the box, which will be overlaid by Sense 8 UI.
The current One M9 has a 5-inch Super LCD3 screen with a Full HD resolution, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it’s planned to be upgraded to 6.0 Marshmallow, and it’s powered by a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor clocked at 2GHz. It uses an Adreno 430 GPU, which is backed by 3GB of RAM and its internal memory of 32GB supports expansion up to 200GB with a microSD card. The 4MP Ultrapixel camera from the back of the M8 found its way to the front side of the M9 and the primary camera was replaced by a 20.7MP sensor, which supports autofocus, dual-LED flash, 1/2.4″ sensor size and 1.2 µm pixel size. The battery has a capacity of 2840 mAh and it should offer around 22 hours of talking time over 3G.
