The LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 are two devices that will be released in the first quarter of 2016. Today we’re going to compare them based on the specifications that are currently rumored. However, keep in mind that these specifications have not been confirmed by the manufactures of these flagships.
Designs and Displays
The LG G5 is expected to come with an IPS LCD display of 5.6-inch that will support a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 525 ppi and it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The successor might come with a full metal body and an official accessory case (Quick Cover case) with a perforated mesh design, which will allow the users to see what’s on the display, to take calls and to interact with notifications using the Always On display feature.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will most likely come with a super AMOLED display of 5.1-inch that will support a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device won’t bring massive changes, so it will have the same glass back and a metal frame, but the rumors say that Samsung has used a tougher alloy.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The LG G5 comes with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be released in two variants as follows:
– Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM,
– Exynos 8890 Octa processor, Mali-T880 MP12 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
The LG G5 is expected to come with an internal storage of 64GB, which you will be able to expand up to 200GB using a microSD card slot. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, but you will be able to expand it up to 200GB using a microSD card.
The LG G5 will sport a dual primary camera of 20MP (found on the rear side of the handset) that will feature autofocus, OIS, LED flash, laser autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 8MP (found on the front side of the device). The Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature a weaker primary camera of 12MP that will support autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection, auto HDR, panorama and the secondary camera will be 8MP.
