The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Apple iPad Air 2 have been released in the last quarter of 2015 and 2014, today we’re going to compare these two tablets and let you decide which one suits your needs better.

Designs

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 measures 237.3x169x5.6mm and weights 389grams. It has a plastic back available in white, black or gold colors, and the sides are protected by a metal frame. On the other hand, the Apple iPad Air 2 is thicker and heavier, as it measures 240×169.5×6.1mm and weights 437grams, but its body is covered in aluminum and the design is minimalistic, while the available colors are space gray, silver and gold. The Tab S2 9.7 has its rear camera located in the central top, while Apple has placed it in the upper left corner.



Displays

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has a Super AMOLED display of 9.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels at 264ppi. The Apple iPad Air 2 comes with a LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 9.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2048x1536pixels at 264ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 features an Exynos 5433 chipset with an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and a quad-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz, a Mali-T760 MP6 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Apple iPad Air 2 has an Apple A8X chipset that houses a triple-core Typhoon processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a PowerVR GXA6850 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.

Storages

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Apple iPad Air 2 comes in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, but it doesn’t feature a card for storage expansion.

Cameras

Both devices sport a primary camera of 8MP (found on the rear side of the tablets), but when it comes to the secondary cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 features one of 2.1MP, while Apple’s iPad Air 2 has a weaker one of only 1.2MP.

Batteries

Both devices come with non-removable batteries, the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has a battery of 5870 mAh which offers 1 hours of multimedia usage, while the iPad Air 2 is powered by a 7340 mAh battery that supports only 10 hours of multimedia usage.
