A few more days and counting until the MWC 2016 event unfolds this year’s premium Android smartphones. Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy S7 as well as the Galaxy S7 Edge at the Samsung Unpacked, just before the big event. However, another Korean company is planning to put up a good fight as it will release the sterling LG G5. So, without any further ado, let’s see how these two match up against one another.
A run-through the rumored specs
It’s pretty obvious that by now, everybody has seen the leaked photos regarding the Samsung Galaxy S7 and those of you that haven’t might have heard rumors about its alleged design. In this matter, it is said that the Galaxy S7 will mirror its S6 sibling, meaning: identical shape, measurements as well as glass panels.
The LG G5 will rock a full metal look and even though based on some leaked images, it may resemble the LG G4, this upcoming LG device will have a detachable ”pod” which means you will be able to slide the battery out.
As far as specs, here is a short briefing of the most important ones. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 under the hood, which will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and users will have 32 and 64GB internal storage options. This device will include a microSD card slot while the battery unit is believed to be a 3000mAh battery (non-removable). Camera wise, the Galaxy S7 is believed to have a 12MP shooter, however the company is planning on using the BRITECELL sensors.
The LG G5 on the other hand will also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and it will have either a 3GB or 4GB of RAM and three storage options: 32, 64 and 128GB. Expect a bigger 400 mAh battery unit, one that is removable this time. The LG G5 device will include a dual-camera unit with 16MP as well as 8MP on the back end camera unit. To conclude, Samsung and LG will definitely bring forth major competitors in the Android playing field.
