Motorola is one of Google’s OEMs and it’s one of the privileged manufacturers that receive the latest Android firmware ahead of others. The Moto G 2015 is a mid-range smartphone that came preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but after the release of Marshmallow, the users from the US, Canada and India started receiving it. Now, the European users are receiving the update over the air. And, starting from today, the HTC One M9 on T-Mobile and Verizon will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Moto G (3rd Gen) in Europe will receive the version 24.41.33.en.EU of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while in the US was delivered the version 24.11.25.en.US. It’s not sure how different these versions are, but it’s good to know that the European users will receive it in phases, via OTA. So, those who will install Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA, will need to tap on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow download notification that will appear on the screen, then press the Download button, the Restart & Install button and the phone will automatically reboot. When the installation starts, on the screen will be shown the Installing System Update notice. After the upgrading will complete, the phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

This firmware will come to the HTC One M9 flagship connected to T-Mobile and Verizon, as the company’s Mo Versi has announced this news on his Twitter account. HTC already updated this model in Canada, as the update was delivered by the telecommunications companies Rogers, Sasktel, Videotron and Wind Mobile. In the US, Sprint rolled out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its subscribers last week and now the T-Mobile and Verizon networks are ready to push out the firmware. Unfortunately, AT&T is a bit late with this upgrade, because of the technical issues that the carrier has encountered during the tests. The users who will want to manually check if the software is available for their devices can go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check For Update.

Some of the new features introduced in Marshmallow are Doze, which extends the battery life; improved app permissions, support for fingerprint scanners etc. Next month, HTC will release its next flagship, the One M10, which will come loaded with the latest Android version.
