The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime have been released in the last quarter of 2016 and they come with some pretty impressive specifications. Today we’re going to talk about these two devices and let you decide which one is best for you.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 measures 145×73.2×8.2mm and weights 150 grams. It has a plastic back and its design makes it look like an average smartphone, but the large camera lens cover will give a clue that the phone is capable of taking extraordinary pictures. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime device is thicker and heavier, as it measures 154×78.7×9.4mm and weights 185 grams. It has a simpler design, a back made of plastic as well, and the three capacitive buttons under the screen have a red accent.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 comes with an AMOLED display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 564 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime has a bigger IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch which supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at only 267 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Microsoft Lumia 950 houses a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808chipset, a hexa-core processor from a dual-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 1.82GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.44GHz, which are backed by an Adreno 418 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime has a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset with a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 306 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 has been released with an internal memory of 32GB, which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime comes with only 16GB of internal storage, but its capacity can be doubled with a microSD card.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 sports a primary camera of 20MP (found on the rear side of the handset) that features tripled-LED RGB flash, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP (found on the front side of the smartphone). The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime comes with a weaker primary camera of 13MP that offers LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Both devices come with removable batteries, but the Microsoft Lumia 950 has a slightly weaker battery of 3000 mAh when compared to the 3100 mAh cell that is powering the Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime phablet.
