WhatsApp is the application used by 1 billion people from all over the world who have a smartphone that can connect to the internet. The application is available on a variety of platforms and has a web client which allows the users to log into their accounts from a computer that is synced to the phone. Some of WhatsApp’s features include free messages containing texts, photos, videos, audio recordings, free voice calls to other users etc. Zuckerberg has dropped the annual subscription fee of 99 cents, so WhatsApp is absolutely free. This means that more and more people will register and will start sending messages to their friends. There’s a category of users who want to know who they spend the most time talking to and in this article we’ll tell them how they can find out this information.
WhatsApp has a hidden feature that allows the users to know who the contacts that send them messages more often are. All they need to do is to go to the Settings tab, then tap on Account and Storage Usage. The latter section will tell you the total number of messages you’ve shared in each of your current chats and the contacts and groups will be ranked based on the amount of interactions you’ve shared with them. If the “Size” tab from the bottom of the screen will be selected, the users will see who they have spent the most data “WhatsApping”.
This feature was introduced last year, in June, alongside the update 2.12.3, but not many people have been curious to find out how much space each of their contacts are taking up on their devices.
WhatsApp is now owned by Facebook, after Zuckerberg spent $19 billion for its acquisition, but he recovered the investment pretty fast. There are a greater number of Android users, so the developers are updating this version more frequent than the rest of platforms. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android is 2.12.449 and can be downloaded from the official website.
