LG will announce its new flagship at the MWC event, which will take place of February 21, so in ten days we’ll see the G5 with out own eyes. Until now, we’ve been teased with rumors and leaks, but the wait will be over soon. Of course, LG had to run a number of standard tests, to make sure that the new processor will not have any issues. The manufacturer sent a G5 prototype to run Geekbench and this way, some of the specs have been confirmed.
According to the benchmark tests conducted on GeekBench, the G5 has obtained pretty good scores. First of all, it was confirmed that the device will come loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, it will be equipped with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset and the processor will be backed by 4GB of RAM.
The model that has been sent for tests carries the number F700S and “S” stands for SK Telecom, which is one of the three major carriers from South Korea. LG’s V10 was described as F600, while the G4 appeared as F500.
According to GSMArena, the device will have a larger 5.6-inch IPS LCD “always-on” display, meaning that a portion of it will show the time, date, notifications pending etc. the internal memory will have a capacity of 64GB, but it will support expansion up to 200GB, the primary camera will be Dual 20 MP and will offer OIS, laser autofocus, LED flash, a 1/2″ sensor size and 4K recording capabilities, wile the front camera that will be used for selfies will have a resolution of 8MP.
The G4 came with a new design, replacing the faux metal back from the previous model, with real leather and plastic with a 3D diamond pattern. Now, it is believed that the G5 will have a modular design and the volume and power buttons will no longer be placed below the rear camera, as they will be moved to one of the sides.
