HTC and Microsoft are two manufacturers that are known for releasing all types of mobile devices, mid-range or flagships with cool designs and high prices. Today we’re going to compare the HTC One X9, a premium phablet with a budget-friendly price that came loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, which runs on Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile.
The HTC One X9 measures 153.9×75.9x8mm and weights 170 grams. It has an all-metal body with the rear camera located in the top center, but it’s placed inside a horizontal band just like that of the Nexus 6P. On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL measures 151.9×78.4×8.1mm and weights 165 grams, while its body is made of plastic and has a very large camera lens in the top center.
The One X9 features a display size of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Lumia 950 XL has an AMOLED display size of 5.7-inch that supports a higher resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The HTC One X9 comes with a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset supporting an octa-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, a PowerVR G6200 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Lumia 950 XL has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset with an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
Both devices feature an internal storage of 32GB which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.
The HTC One X9 sports a primary camera of 13MP (found on the rear side of the handset) that features dual-LED flash, OIS, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP (found on the front side of the smartphone). The Lumia 950 XL has a better primary camera of 20MP that offers OIS, autofocus, triple LED RGB flash, geo-tagging, PureView technology, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP.
Both devices come with non-removable batteries, but the HTC One X9 has a smaller battery of only 3000 mAh, while the Lumia 950 XL has a 3340 mAh cell.
The One X9 is expected to cost around $370 in India, while the Lumia 950 XL is sold on Amazon for $505.
