Samsung Galaxy J7 series of devices were not as such anticipated, but is seems the company has enjoyed the love people are showing for the Galaxy J series. This phone, being a mid-level handset, is expected to come in with quite a number of interesting capabilities, among them a HD display screen, a high-performing battery unit and the latest Android Marshmallow. So, when will we get to see the new Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) edition?

Pricing and release date

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) pricing and official release date details have yet to be announced. However, looking at the date of its predecessor’s release, it makes us believe that this device will not be around until around the same time (summer).

However, things are changing and cycles which companies follow, to release devices, are getting even shorter. As a result, don’t be surprised if this phone hits the stores somewhere before this summer. Being a mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy J7 (2016) is expected to be priced at no more than $350.

Expected features and specifications

As noted above, no details of this device have been made official. However, the internet is full of leaks with respect to the design, features and specifications of the Galaxy J7 (2016). From what we have gathered, the mid-level smartphone will come with a decent Exynos 7870 processor that has 8 cores and can clock a maximum speed of 1.7GHz. Inside the device there will be a RAM of 2GB and 3GB with onboard storage of 16GB and 32GB for the two variants, respectively. As far as the graphics unit is concerned, the J7 (2016) will feature a Mali-T830 unit.

Unlike the flagship models, in which, until now, we aren’t sure whether Samsung will bring back the support for microSD card, expect this year’s Galaxy J7 to have this slot. This means that if the 16GB onboard storage availed is not enough, you can get a microSD card of up to 128GB and insert into this slot.

As for the size of display, Samsung will equip this phone with a 5.5-inch HD screen with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. On the rear of the phone there will be a 13MP snapper while the front will come with a 5MP selfie camera.

To help take care of the smartphone battery issues, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) is rumored to be coming with a huge 4,300mAh battery unit. Even though this is unproven and unexpected, it would be a welcome addition if it did happen.

The2016 Galaxy J7 will be powered using the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
