The iPhone 7 and its phablet variant will be released in September and rumors say that Apple will adopt an edge-to-edge display, will make the body waterproof and will remove the headphone jack. Also, the new model will come in four variants of colors: Silver, Gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold and reports say that the Apple will make some changes to the back panel by removing the antenna stripes. A mockup has been leaked and now we know what to expect from the upcoming iPhone 7.
Most likely, the iPhone 7/7 Plus will be unveiled on September 13 and the small version will come with the same 4.7-inch screen, while the phablet will stick to the 5.5-inch screen. But, the internal specs will be improved, as every year, Apple releases a new “A” processor and motion processor, so the iPhone 7 will be powered by an A10 processor and an M10 co-processor. It’s not certain yet if the RAM capacity will be increased from 2GB, but without a doubt, the device will run on the new iOS 10, which will be unveiled at the WWDC event in June 2016.
If we go back in time, when the iPhone 5 was announced, the fans were angry because of the addition of the power connector, as the old accessories will be incompatible and the owners would need to purchase an adaptor to fit them. Now, rumors say that Apple wants to make a new change and come up with a new style of headphone jack which will make older accessories incompatible, again. The headphone jack will be slimmer (2mm), according to the patent filed by Apple and it will be called D Jack.
So, if you thought that this is the only news, then you’ll be even angrier if Apple will remove the 1mm lines from the back, which are hiding the radio antennas. Also, the iPhone 7 is rumored to benefit from waterproof protection, but Apple will protect its electronic components by using a coat that will not let the water that will get inside to damage them.
Moreover, the upcoming iPhone is rumored to support wireless charging, but it seems that this type of charging won’t require the phone being placed on a charging mat. As for the screen, Economic Daily News reported that Apple will use a 3D display and there’s a patent that has been publish lat year and which showed that the screen extends onto the sides.
