The HTC One M9 owners who are connected to Sprint have waited too long to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, and now, their wait is about to end, as this carrier will send the firmware version 3.41.651.3 over-the-air to this device.

After the official release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, HTC was among the first carriers that launched a smartphone running on this version. The One A9 was announced in September, but it hit the stores in November. It’s interesting that the One M8 flagship had received the update ahead of the new model, but Sprint has finally took the bull by the horns and on February 5, it started rolling out the firmware to its One M9 as well.

The users can download the firmware over the air, but if they don’t get notified about the availability of the update, they can manually check by going to Settings > System Updates > HTC software update > Check Now.

The One M9 is sold by Sprint with a two-year contract and a monthly plan of $29.50, but the customers can also buy it without a contract and pay $708. The phone has a design that it’s almost identical to its predecessor, featuring an aluminum body with the familiar two horizontal lines from the top and bottom of the back. The device has a thickness of 9.6mm, it weights 157 grams and some of its variants have a dual-tone design (the frame has a different color). The Super LCD3 screen retained the size of 5.0-inch and Full HD resolution with 441 ppi, the processor has been upgraded to Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core (four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and four cores clocked at 2GHz), which is backed by 3GB of RAM, the internal memory has a capacity of 32GB, but the device supports a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB. The rear camera was also improved, as HTC has replaced the 4MP Ultrapixel shooter (being moved to the front side) with a 20MP T4KA7 Toshiba sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, while the battery was increased from 2600 mAh to 2840 mAh.
