WhatsApp has now over 1 billion monthly active users and it has become the most used messaging application in the world, in addition, the $0.99 annual fee has been removed, which means that, from now on, the WhatsApp application is completely free.

A new WhatsApp BETA version has been released for the Android devices. The new WhatsApp 2.12.437 brings some changes to the group member limit. As most of you already know, a group can’t hold more than 100 members on WhatsApp. Well, it seems that this has changed with the new 2.12.437 version, as it allows now up to 256 members in a Group.

We remind you that WhatsApp Group was limited to 15 members when it was released, but later, the number was increased up to 50, 100 and now 256, this is good news for big communities or small companies.

The WhatsApp 2.12.437 doesn’t come with any other changes, but it contains some bug fixes and stability improvements of the application.

How To Install WhatsApp 2.12.437 On Your Android Device

The WhatsApp 2.12.437 is currently in BETA phase, which means that you will not be able to download and install it from the official Android Store. However, you will be able to download it from the internet by opening the browser on your Android device and head to website. When the page will load, you will see a “Download Now” button and by tapping on it, you will start downloading the WhatsApp 2.12.437 APK file to your Android device.

HINT: In order to install an APK file that has been downloaded from a third party source, you will need to enable the “Unknown Sources” option that’s found in either Settings->Security or Settings->Applications.

When the download is complete, uninstall the current WhatsApp application from your Android smartphone, use a file manager application to get to the location where you’ve saved the WhatsApp 2.12.437 APK and tap on it to start installing the latest BETA version of this application.
