The owners of these five models are running out of patience because they are tired of waiting for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to be rolled out by Sony to their devices. Other companies already sent the firmware to some of their handsets a few months ago, and soon, the Xperia Z3, Z4, Z5, M5, M4 Aqua devices will benefit from this treatment. It’s not sure when it will happen, but at least Sony has confirmed that these devices have been included on the list, so the users must be prepared to be notified in the near future.
Motorola, HTC and LG were the first manufacturers that released the firmware to their flagships, while Samsung and Sony have bought time to work on the update, in order to add different interfaces, but both of them are ready to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to a number of devices.
The Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are two of the devices that are already running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta, but only a few devices have been accepted in the program and soon, the firmware will be rolled out to the rest of devices. And Sony has conducted a survey and found out that 80 percent of the participants in the program were satisfied with the concept beta update and they can’t wait to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their devices.
This means that the two smartphones will receive the firmware ahead of the rest of handsets, such as Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, Z5 Premium, Z4 Tablet, Z3+, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2, Z2 Tablet, M5, C5 Ultra, M4 Aqua and Xperia C4.
The Xperia M4 Aqua was supposed to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in 2015, but Sony has decided to skip it and instead, to upgrade this device directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
