WhatsApp has now reached 1 billion monthly active users and it seems that there are more and more people who are lured to install this application on their smartphones. Today we’re going to talk about a new beta version that has been released for the Android smartphones.

We agree that the WhatsApp application doesn’t have all the features that are available in other mobile messaging applications, but the developers have tried to keep a simple UI and still bring some of the most popular features that are offered by other applications.

For example, last year, they’ve finally brought the Voice Calling feature for the WhatsApp application and this made many smartphones owners to ditch other messaging mobile applications for this one. However, the Voice Calling feature is only available on smartphones that run on Android OS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10 and iOS.

It is good to know that there are rumors which say that the developers of WhatsApp are currently working on bringing the Video Calling feature on this application. Unfortunately, this was not confirmed by anyone from WhatsApp, so we should take this news with a bit of salt.

The WhatsApp 2.12.429 is the latest BETA version of this application and it can now be downloaded from the internet. The APK (installation) file size of this new WhatsApp version has 26.79 MB and it will require Android 2.1 or a later version, in order to work on your Android device.

The new WhatsApp 2.12.429 BETA version doesn’t come with any new features, but it fixes some of the bugs and issues that were found on the previous versions of the application.

To install the WhatsApp 2.12.429 APK on your Android device, you will firstly need to enable the “Unknown Sources” option from your device’s Settings->Applications or Settings->Security and download the WhatsApp 2.12.429 APK file from website.

Once the APK file has been downloaded to your Android device, use a file manager application to get to the location where you’ve saved it and tap on it to start installing the latest WhatsApp BETA version on your smartphone.
