Samsung and Apple are two rival companies that are releasing some awesome mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Today we’re going to talk about the Google’s Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Apple’s iPad Air 2, two tablets that come with some good features and specifications.
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 measures 237.3x169x5.6mm and weights 389 grams (Wi-Fi version) or 392 grams (LTE version). It has a plastic back available in variants of white and black gold, and the sides are protected with a metal frame. The Apple iPad Air 2 measures 240×169.5×6.1mm and weights 437 grams (Wi-Fi version) or 444 grams (3G/LTE version). Apple is using aluminum for its devices and this tablet comes in three color options: space gray, silver and gold.
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has a Super AMOLED display of 9.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels at 264 ppi. On the other hand, the Apple iPad Air 2 comes with a IPS LCD display of 9.7-inch supporting the same resolution and pixel density, but it’s protected by a scratch-resistant glass.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 device sports an Exynos 5433 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.3GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, a Mali-T760 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Apple iPad Air 2 has an Apple A8X chipset with a triple-core Typhoon processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a PowerVR GXA6850 graphics card and 2GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, but you will be able to expand it up to 128GB using a microSD card slot. On the other hand, the Apple iPad Air 2 comes in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, but unfortunately, it doesn’t support a card slot for storage expansion.
Both devices sport a primary camera of 8MP which can be found on the rear side of each tablet. However, when it comes to the secondary camera (that’s located on the front side of the tablet), the one found on the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is better as it has 2.1MP while the one found on the Apple iPad Air 2 has only 1.2MP.
Both tablets come with non-removable batteries, but it seems that Apple iPad Air 2 has a more powerful one of 7340 mAh, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is powered by a 5870 mAh battery.
