Today we’re going to talk about two phablets that were released in the first quarter of 2015. The two devices come with large displays, great specifications and features, but more about them we’re going to talk below.
The Lumia 950 XL measures 151.9×78.4×8.1mm and weights 165 grams. Its back is made of plastic and it has a large circular camera located in the top center. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 5 is slimmer, as it measures 153.2×76.1×7.6mm, but it weights 171 grams and it looks prettier with its glossy glass back (Corning Gorilla Glass 4) and metal frame. In addition, the Note 5 has a S Pen stylus for taking notes directly on the screen.
The Lumia 950 XL features an AMOLED display of 5.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Galaxy Note 5 has a Super AMOLED display with the same size, resolution, pixel density and benefits from the same protection.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Lumia 950 XL has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, which houses an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 5 comes with an Exynos 7420 chipset that supports an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz, a Mali-T760MP8 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
The Lumia 950 XL has an internal memory of 32GB, but don’t worry, because you are allowed to expand its capacity up to 200GB using a microSD card. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 5 has been released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB and it doesn’t feature a card slot for storage expansion.
Lumia 950 XL sports a primary camera of 20MP that’s found on the rear side of the device and features OIS, autofocus, triple-LED RGB flash, geo-tagging, PureView technology, face detection, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP that’s found on the front side of the handset. On the rear side of the Galaxy Note 5 you will find a primary camera of 16MP that feature autofocus, LED flash, OIS, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, touch focus and on the front side of the phablet you will find the secondary camera of 5MP.
The Lumia 950 Xl has a very powerful battery of 3340 mAh, which can be replaced. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 5 comes with a battery of only 3000 mAh which is non-removable.
