Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Sony Xperia Z5 are two devices that were released in the third quarter of 2015. Both devices come with big screens and we’re pretty sure that the phablet fans were quite satisfied with the specifications and features that they come with.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 measures 152x76x8.3mm and weights 160 grams. Its body is made of plastic, it has a simple design and there are multiple color variants to choose from: white, blue, yellow, pink and mint green. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z5 is thicker measuring 146x72x7.3mm and it weights only 154 grams. However, Sony uses a frosted glass and metal design which looks a lot more luxurious.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 403 ppi. The Xperia Z5 comes with a smaller IPS LCD display of 5.2-inch with the same resolution, but which gives a higher pixel density of 428 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Redmi Note 2 is powered by a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 2GHz, which is backed by a PowerVR G6200 and 2GB of RAM. The Xperia Z5 comes Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset supporting an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
The Redmi Note 2 has been released with an internal storage of 16GB, but only the Chinese version of the device supports a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 32GB for storage expansion. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 supports an internal storage of 32GB which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.
The Redmi Note 2 device sports a primary camera of 13MP that’s found on the rear side of the device and has features such as geo-tagging, autofocus, touch focus, HDR, smile detection, panorama, while the secondary camera is 5MP and it’s found on the front side of the device. The Xperia Z5 has a way better primary camera of 23MP with LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, panorama, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5.1MP.
Both devices have non-removable batteries, but the Redmi Note 2 device has a slightly more powerful cell of 3060 mAh, while the Xperia Z5 has a battery of 2900 mAh.
