The LG V10 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium devices were released in the last quarter of 2015, the two phones come with big displays and superior hardware specs, and today we’re going to compare them in order to help you make the right decision before buying one of these models.
The LG V10 measures 159.6×79.3×8.6mm and weights 192 grams. Its design combines stainless steel and silicone, and has many variants of textures for the back. However, in our opinion, the phone looks pretty robust. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 Premium is slimmer and lighter, as it measures 154.4×75.8×7.8mm and weights only 180 grams, while its exterior is made of glass (back) and metal (frame).
The LG V10 has an IPS LCD display of 5.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 515 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In addition, the LG V10 also features a secondary display on top of the main screen, with a diagonal of 2.1-inch that supports a resolution of 1040×160 pixels.
The Xperia Z5 Premium comes with an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a higher resolution of 3840×2160 pixels at 806 ppi and it is protected by a scratch-resistant glass.

The LG V10 sports a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with a hexa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.44GHz and a dual-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 1.82GHz, an Adreno 418 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The Xperia Z5 Premium has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset with an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
Both devices support a microSD card slot up to 200GB for storage expansions. However, when it comes to the internal storage the LG V10 has a bigger one of 64GB, while the Xperia Z5 Premium’s internal storage has only 32GB.
The LG V10 sports a primary camera of 16MP (found on the rear side) that features OIS, LED flash, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection, geo-tagging and a duo secondary camera of 5MP (found on the front side). The main camera of the Xperia Z5 Premium is superior, as it supports a resolution of 23MP and has features such as LED flash, autofocus, panorama, HDR, face detection and geo-tagging, while the front camera is 5.1MP.
The LG V10 comes with a removable battery of 3000 mAh. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 Premium has a better battery of 3430 mAh, but it can’t be removed/replaced.
