The battle of the Android flagships still continues as the next-generation smart phones are set to be released in the coming months. Phone enthusiasts are excited about the numerous phone offerings to look forward to at the 2016 Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona from February 22 to February 25. But among these next generation mobile devices to be showcased, three specific phone launches top the list. These are the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC One M10 and LG G5.
Samsung Galaxy S7
The release date for the S7 flagship is not yet final but rumors are circulating this will be no later than March, if not in February. Samsung has been one of the big players in the past years, with the company always trying to outdo the latest Android phones in the market, including its previous phone generations. In our earlier post, we asked the question if the S7 will be better than its predecessor. We still have to find that out in the coming days.
The design is said to be the same with the S6 and iPhone, elegant and sleek. As for the front camera, the rumor that leaked was that it was positioned to the right and a bit lower. The new Samsung flagship is also said to have the pressure sensitive 3D Touch Display feature which we first saw from the iPhone 6. Among the talks from the internet, the S7 will be having 2 versions, the regular type and the other one designed with curvy sides.
HTC One M10
Last year was not too good for HTC with the M9 not really quite a success. And with the recent rumors of the radical changes on the HTC One M10 features, everybody is raving about it. Although word has come out that it will have the same Snapdragon 820 just like the G5, its camera has 23 megapixels. Moreover, it will also sport a fingerprint scanner and be powered by 3,000 mAh battery pack as well as the presence of front facing speakers. And the most interesting information we have gathered, HTC will be holding its own event in March in time for the launch. Also, according to sources, aside from the rumored codename of HTC Perfume, the M10 will have a Quad-HD AMOLED display of 5.1 inches and a 4GB RAM.
LG G4 was not as flashy as Samsung S6 but it still had a warm welcome from the public. With the rumored launch of LG G5 in time for MWC 2016, things may be different this time. Reports say that although it will be packed with a Snapdragon 820 CPU, its camera’s megapixels will only be within 16 to 20, QHD display of 5.5 inches and a mere 3GB RAM.
Which of these three smart phone models will shine the brightest this year is still unsure but definitely, the battle of the flagships will be better as the years pass. At the end of the day, the users are the ones to benefit from these competitions among phone manufacturers. And with new devices being introduced one after the other, like the release of two phablets during the last quarter of 2015, the excitement just never stops.
