Sharing is caring!

Viber and WhatsApp are two of the most popular mobile messaging applications out there. Today we’re going to talk about these two applications and their features, and you will decide which one of them suits better your needs. But your decision will be also based on your friends’ choices.

Viber has a desktop version of this application, which allows you to log into your Viber account from your computer.

However, we can’t say the same for WhatsApp, as the developers have released only a “web” version of the application that allows you to connect from your computer to your WhatsApp account via the web browser. At the same time, you will need to keep your smartphone connected to the internet and the WhatsApp application running, as it uses the mobile application to broadcast to the web page.

Making Calls With The Application

Only the Viber application comes with a feature called “Viber Out” that allows you to make regular phone calls, but keep in mind that for this, you will need to charge your account with credits.

Both applications allow you to make calls, but it is good to know that this feature was firstly introduced to Viber, while the WhatsApp application received it in 2015.

Forwarding Messages, Videos & Pictures

Both applications allow you to forward messages, videos and pictures by pressing the message, video or picture for over one second and you will get an option to forward the message to one or more friends.

Copying A Number Or A Message

Viber and WhatsApp applications allow you to copy and paste phone numbers and messages to other contacts or on other applications.

You will be able to send unlimited text messages, audio and video messages using Viber and WhatsApp applications, but keep in mind that you will need to be connected to the internet.

Emoticons & Stickers

Viber comes with a sticker store from where you will be able to download stickers. Some of the stickers are free, while others cost money. If you want, you will be able to use animated emojis as well. WhatsApp comes with emoticons, but unfortunately, the application doesn’t have stickers.

The Viber Application is available for iPads, tablets, smartphones that run on Android, iOS, Windows Phone etc. and with computers.

WhatsApp application is available for smartphones that run on Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Android, iOS, Nokia S60, S40 and BlackBerry 10.
