Sharing is caring!

WhatsApp and Snapchat are two of the most used mobile messaging applications. Today we’re going to talk about these two applications and let you decide which one suits your needs better.

Status

WhatsApp allows you to set a Status in order to let your friends know if you are away, busy or if the battery of your device is about to die. Unfortunately, Snapchat doesn’t come with this feature and you can only know if a contact is online when he/she replies.

Personalization

WhatsApp can be personalized by setting your own theme, wallpaper and more. Unfortunately, the Snapchat application only allows you to personalize its QR code.

SIM Requirements

In order to create your WhatsApp account, you will need a SIM card on your phone. However, Snapchat doesn’t require a SIM and you will be able to create an account without needing mobile phone number.

Sharing Videos, Photos and Audio

Both applications allow you to share videos, photos and audio files. However, the videos and snaps that are sent on Snapchat will be deleted in a short period of time (depending on the timer settings), but those sent on WhatsApp are saved and stored as a backup until you manually delete them.

Typing…

This feature is found on both devices and allows you to see when a friend is currently typing. This way, you will know that your friend will reply to your message.

Read Receipts

Both applications allow you to see if the contact has received the message that you’ve sent or if they’ve read it.

Sharing

On WhatsApp, you will be able to share your contacts with your friends by just attaching a contact card. Unfortunately, this is not possible on Snapchat.
