Motorola, HTC, LG and Sony were the first manufacturers to roll out the latest Android version to their flagships and they’re gradually adding more devices to the list of eligible smartphones that will receive Marshmallow. There are many Samsung devices connected to carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon that will receive the update in February, and now, HTC has announced that its One M9 flagship will enjoy this treatment, after its successor was upgraded before it. Below, we’ll talk about more smartphones that are waiting for this update.

Many US carriers started rolling out the Android Marshmallow to HTC’s One M8 and tomorrow, T-Mobile is expected to do the same, being followed by AT&T and Verizon. The latest Android OS has reached a number of One M9 devices from Canada, which are connected to carriers such as Rogers, Sasktel, Videotron and Wind Mobiel, but Bell and Telus are not rushing to make their customers happy. In the US, the M9 users were supposed to receive the update starting from January 18, but nobody has reported that this actually happened. Still, it’s very odd that HTC has decided to update its One M8 first, even if the phone is 2 years old. Anyway, the good news s that both devices will take advantage of Marshmallow’s new features – Doze, the mode that will shut down inactive applications in order to extend the battery life; Google Now on Tap; App Permissions; App search bar and favorites; revamped clock etc.

Samsung has established the order of devices that will receive the Android Marshmallow update. After the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 will come next and will be followed by the Note 4 and Note Edge, which will receive the update from March to April. Much later, the Galaxy A8, A7, A5, A3 and E5 smartphones, alongside tablets such as Tab S2 8.0, Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy A, will wait in line to receive the update, but it all depends on US carriers, which will roll out the update sooner or later.

As for the LG G3, some users reported on Reddit that three models will receive the update in short time: the LG G3 on Verizon, the D855 model and the F400L/K/S models. The Xiaomi Mi 4 devices will skip the 6.0 version will be directly updated to the 6.0.1 version, which will have the build number MMB29M.
