The Huawei Nexus 6P and Apple iPhone 6S Plus flagships were released in September 2015. Both of them are quite popular and today we’re going to compare them and let you decide which one is best for you.
The Nexus 6P measures 159.3×77.8×7.3mm and weights 178 grams, featuring a metal body with a black horizontal band made of glass, at the top of the back, while the iPhone 6S Plus measures 158.2×77.9 x7.3mm and weights 192 grams. Its body is also metallic, but it has thin horizontal lines at the top and bottom, which are hiding the radio antennas. The difference between the Nexus 6P and iPhone 6S Plus has to do with the position of the fingerprint scanner, which is located on the back of the Nexus phablet, while the iPhone 6S Plus has it integrated into the home button.
The Nexus 6P features an AMOLED display with a size of 5.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. On the other hand, the iPhone 6S Plus has an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inches supporting a weaker resolution of only 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Nexus 6P comes with a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset which is powered by an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.55GHz and a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The iPhone 6S Plus has an Apple A9 chipset with a dual-core Twister processor clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT6700 graphics card and only 2GB of RAM.
The Nexus 6P has been released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The iPhone 6S Plus was also released in three storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. None of the devices supports a card slot for storage expansion, so you should think twice before spending your money on any of these devices, because you need to take into consideration how much space you need for all the video files, games and documents that you will want to save/install.
The Nexus 6P device sports a primary camera of 12.3MP that’s found on the rear side of the device and features dual LED flash, laser autofocus, face detection, HDR, panorama, touch focus, while the secondary camera is 8MP.
The primary camera of the iPhone 6S Plus device has a similar resolution and offers autofocus, dual LED flash, geo-tagging, HDR, face detection, while the secondary camera is weaker at 5MP.
Both devices sport non-removable batteries, but the Nexus 6P has a more powerful one of 3450 mAh compared to the one found on the iPhone 6S Plus that has only 2750 mAh.
