Two low-end Asus ZenFone 3 handsets have been spotted on GFXBench and according to rumors, these smartphones will be released in May or June with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. As for the mid-range Moto G released in 2014, Motorola India posted on its website that this model will be upgraded to Marshmallow soon.

Back in 2015, Asus has released three variants of the ZenFone 2 smartphone and the top-tier model supported 4GB of RAM. Now, we’re approaching the end of January and Asus hasn’t made any announcement yet regarding a new smartphone, but fortunately, there’s a rumor according to which two new ZenFone 3 Android variants have been spotted on GFXBench, carrying the model numbers Asus Z010DD and Asus Z012D.

The first model will come with a huge 5.9-inch screen that will support a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, it will be powered by a Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor which will be backed by an Adreno 405 GPU and will have a 12Mp rear camera and a 5MP front camera with Full HD video recording capabilities. The RAM capacity is very unusual, supporting 2.8GB, while the internal memory will be 24GB, which is also very odd.

As for the Asus Z012D model, its 5.5-inch screen will support a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and will be powered by a hexa core Snapdragon processor, whose clock speed hasn’t been specified, but which will be backed by an Adreno 510 GPU and will have the same RAM and internal memory capacity.

What’s more important is that even if their specs seem inferior, both of the phones will come loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. And if Asus will use the same camera from the ZenFone Zoom smartphone that has been released in December, then the upcoming ZenFone 3 devices will compete with high-end smartphones such as the iPhone 6S Plus, because they will come with a 10-element lens plus 3X optical zoom.

Moto G 2014 To be Upgraded To Android Marshmallow In India

In November, last year, the Indian owners of a Moto X Style started receiving the Android Marshmallow update, while the Moto X Play and Moto G Turbo Edition were scheduled to be upgraded in January. Soon, the second generation Moto G device, which runs now on Android 5.0 Lollipop, has been confirmed to be upgraded directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, skipping the Android 5.1 version and this will happen in a week or two.
