Samsung and Sony are two big companies that are releasing many types of products, such as TVs, Cameras or smartphones. Today we’re going to talk about two flagship smartphones that have been launched in 2015: Samsung Galaxy S6 and Sony Xperia Z5. It is good to know that the Galaxy S6 was released earlier, in April 2015, while the Xperia Z5 came later, in October 2015.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 device measures 143.4×70.5×6.8mm, it weights only 138 grams and the back panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, while the frame is made of aluminum. The Sony Xperia Z5 it thicker and heavier than the Galaxy S6, as it measures 146x72x7.3mm and weights 154 grams. Sony is using the popular Omnibalance design with materials such as frosted glass and metal.
The Galaxy S6 device has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display supporting a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 577 ppi and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Xperia Z5 features a bigger IPS LCD display of 5.2-inches with a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 428 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Galaxy S6 features an Exynos 7420 chipset consisting of an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2.1GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a Mali-T760MP8 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
The Xperia Z5 has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, which is powered by an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 430 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S6 has been released in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB and doesn’t have a card slot. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 comes only with a variant of 32GB, but you should not worry about that, because the device supports microSD cards of up to 200GB.
The Galaxy S6 sports a primary camera of 16MP with features such as OIS, autofocus, geo-tagging-touch focus, face detections, LED Flash, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Xperia Z5 has a better primary camera of 23MP that also comes with LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 5.1MP.
Both devices come with non-removable batteries. The Galaxy S6 has a battery with a capacity of only 2550 mAh while the Xperia Z5 has a 2900 mAh one, but both manufacturers included wireless charging.
