If you are using the WhatsApp application on your smartphone, then you already know that there is not a desktop version of this application and we’re not sure if the developers will ever create one. They’ve brought the “WhatsApp Web” feature, which allows you to connect to your WhatsApp account via the web browser, but you’re quite limited and you need to let the mobile device connected to the internet and the WhatsApp application open in order for it to function.
Today we’re going to explain you how you can install the WhatsApp application on your Windows PC. However, before we do, we’re going to explain more about how the WhatsApp ID functions and why you will need to make a secondary WhatsApp account for your Windows PC. First of all, a WhatsApp ID can be active on a single device only. Once it gets activated on another device, you will be logged out from the previous device where it was activated. With other words, if you want to have an account that will function always on your Windows PC without much struggle, you will have to make a separate account for it.
Installing WhatsApp On Your Windows PC
In order to install the WhatsApp application on your Windows PC, you will need to firstly install an Android emulator. There are many Android emulators that can be downloaded from the internet, but one of the most used ones is named “BlueStacks” and it can be downloaded for free from the internet.
As you already know, in order to activate a WhatsApp ID, you will need a mobile phone number and this is the reason why you will need to make sure that you have a secondary mobile number for your Windows PC.
After you download and install “BlueStacks” Android Emulator on your Windows PC, you will need to open the Google Play Store (comes pre-installed) and search for WhatsApp. Once you find it, select it and click “Install” in order to start downloading and installing the latest official WhatsApp version on your Windows PC via “BlueStacks”.
Once the WhatsApp application is installed, you will need to use a new mobile phone number to activate the new WhatsApp account on your Windows PC. Just insert the SIM with the new phone number into a mobile phone device, in order to make sure that you will receive the activation code that will be used on the WhatsApp application that runs on your Windows PC via the “BlueStacks” emulator.
Now, get back to your Windows PC, insert the new mobile phone number to the WhatsApp application and wait for the activation code to appear on your mobile phone. Once you get the activation code, use it on your WhatsApp application (that runs on your PC via Bluestacks) and you will activate the new WhatsApp account on your Windows PC.
Just insert the SIM into a mobile device, to make sure that you receive the activation code in there, or else you will not be able to activate your new WhatsApp account on your Windows PC.
