There has been a murky past that is associated with some Chinese phones.

A majority of such phones are characterized by shady software and cloning of original phone brands.

They have features that resemble the original brands’ and they are interestingly cheaper compared to the original makes. There are, however, some Chinese smartphones that are easily and readily available in the U.S. market. They have equally quality features as well as exhibit excellent performance and have relatively lower prices. These include Alcatel One Touch Idol 3, ZTE Nubia 5, Huawei P8 Lite and One Plus 2. Also, some are hard to come across in the U.S. market but are still worth having or knowing about.

Xiaomi Mi.4C

Powered by a Snapdragon 808 chipset, this 3 GB RAM-smartphone exhibits high performance at a relatively affordable price of about $ 240. Xiaomi Mi 4C has a full high definition 5” display, a fast-charging 3080 mAh battery as well as a type-C USB port among many other amazing features. This Android supported device is running on Lollipop version and is simply cool.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro

Packing the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset with a RAM of 4GB, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is also another smartphone that is a killer. This device costs about $ 495, and it comes with a 5.7” QHD display plus a 13MP shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).

Huawei P8

Huawei P8 Lite is easily available in the U.S. market, but the Huawei P8 is rare. Coming in a slim metallic body, Huawei P8 has the front covered with Gorilla Glass 4. This phone boasts of a 5.2-inch display, 8MP front and 13MP rear snappers, a 2600 mAh battery, Android’s Lollipop version and a 2 GHZ octa-core Kirin 930 chipset.

Supported on a 3GB RAM, the phone costs about $460.

This Lenovo-backed device has a 5.5-inch full HD screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3 GB RAM, a 13 MP camera sensor from Sony, 64 GB internal storage capacity and a 4100 mAh battery.  Interestingly, the ZUK Z1 is fitted with a fingerprint scanner for the device’s security and is also running on Lollipop version of the Android OS. At around $350, this smartphone will deliver perfectly well with its given specs.

Honor 7

This device has a 3100mAh battery unit and is aluminum-covered with close resemblance to Huawei Mate S and the HTC One M9. Also fitted with a fingerprint scanner, the Honor 7 runs on a 3 GB RAM, and a Kirin 935-processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. This Android Lollipop-supported smartphone has 20 MP rear and 8MP selfie shooters, 5.2 –inch LCD screen and is dual-SIM enhanced.

Meizu Pro 5

Having the same chipset as the Galaxy 6 – Exynos 7420 – with a speed of 2.5 GHz, Meizu Pro 5 displays excellent performance.  The phone costs around $ 512 and has incredible features that include a fingerprint scanner, a 21 MP front camera, 5.7” full HD screen and 3,000 mAh battery. The phone is also Android Lollipop supported.

Lenovo Vibe P1

Coming with an incredible 4,900 mAh battery at a cost of about $ 398, the Lenovo Vibe P1 is arguably the bomb. The battery in this device doubles the sizes of different other smartphones’ batteries as at now.

Lenovo Vibe P1 has a number of features that include a Gorilla Glass 3-protected 5.5-inch display, dual-SIM enabled, 5 MP secondary and 13 MP primary cameras, fingerprint scanner and quick-charging Tech among many other fantastic features.

These Chinese smartphones are cool and amazing. As you can see, they have embraced most of the technologies that majority of the phones in the West have. The performance of some of these phones can be equated to a number of smartphones that are commonly available in the U.S. market. But who knows, with time some of these devices or maybe their successors may find their way to North America.
