When you become addicted to a certain brand, then you’re happy with whatever new smartphone that manufacturer is releasing. But after a while, when you finally decide to make a change, it’s hard to pick a replacement, especially if you’re switching from iOS to Android. A Reddit user has made an experiment and ditched its iPhone in favor of a Nexus 5X smartphone and he declared himself happy with his choice.

It is known that the Nexus 5X was created by LG for Google and it comes loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest operating system launched in October, the device is a successor of the Nexus 5, but it has a larger screen of 5.2-inch with the same Full HD resolution, the exterior is made of plastic and on the back, under the rear camera, sits a new fingerprint scanner. The processor isn’t the fastest, but it performs very well, as it’s a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 hexa core clocked at 1.82GHz and backed by 2GB of RAM.

Nobody has complained about the 12.3MP back camera with 1.55 micron pixels), f2.0 aperture and laser autofocus, taking excellent shots in low light conditions. Also, the 2700mAh battery is lasting long enough.

If you want to know the conclusions of a former iPhone user who bought a Nexus 5X device, below we’ll tell you what he wrote on Reddit: “The OS is very snappy and I feel like it’s much, much faster than iOS9.2 on my 6plus. There’s been moments that I lost track of my actions because I was stumbling over the speed of the phone, it’s amazing.” He liked the Do Not Disturb prefs, the fact that the screen turns off when picking up the phone and he was very satisfied with the Google Now on Tap feature.

However, he had some complaints related to the camera app, which couldn’t find the camera and he needed to reboot the device. He also said that “Google is very sparse with their feedback sometimes. When stuff doesn’t work like you would expect, there’s just no explanation, for example, now on tap didn’t work for me. When I flipped the ‘on switch’ and pressed ‘Ok, let’s go’, the switch just flipped itself back to off without any message.”

But, overall, he had more positives on the list, than negatives, which means that he didn’t regret the decision to buy the Nexus 5X.
